ESG Co-Lab: Vectors and Joint Solutions of State-Owned Companies of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On November 26, 2025, JSC “Uztransgaz” together with JSC “UzAssets” organized the event “ESG Co-Lab: Vectors and Joint Solutions of State-Owned Companies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

Independent members of the Supervisory Boards and management of state-owned oil, gas, and energy companies of Uzbekistan took part in the seminar.

At the event, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “UzAssets,” Bobur Abdinazarov, delivered a introductory speech, emphasizing the strategic importance of the ESG agenda for Uzbekistan’s state-owned companies. He noted that ESG is a national priority and a key element of the transformation of large state companies within the framework of the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy.

According to him, the number of state-owned companies in Uzbekistan with ESG ratings reached seven in 2025, including enterprises from the oil, gas, and energy sectors. He also highlighted the establishment of a specialized ESG Center of Excellence under UzAssets, which will become a key platform for implementing international ESG standards, training specialists, and coordinating initiatives of state-owned companies. It was additionally noted that a high level of ESG indicators expands access to international capital on more favorable terms.

Furthermore, Ernst & Young delivered a presentation on international ESG implementation practices and the assessment of business effects, sharing their experience and recommendations for integrating sustainable approaches into the activities of state-owned companies.

During the event, group sessions were organized for participants to determine the priority vectors and sustainable development goals of Uzbekistan’s state-owned companies, aimed at increasing the sustainability, transparency, and investment attractiveness of enterprises in the oil, gas, and energy sectors.
