On February 23, 2026, “UzAssets” JSC held a meeting with representatives of the international rating agency Fitch Ratings.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation with state-owned companies of Uzbekistan in the assignment and monitoring of credit and ESG ratings, as well as further integration of sustainable development principles into the financial and strategic activities of enterprises.
Particular attention was paid to the interrelation between credit and ESG ratings, the development of independent sustainability assessment practices, and the importance of ESG factors in enhancing investment attractiveness and strengthening long-term financial stability.
“UzAssets” JSC presented information on the ongoing implementation of ESG principles, including the delivery of training programs and the preparation of specialists in accordance with international disclosure standards (IFRS S1 and S2).
The parties also discussed methodological approaches to ESG assessment, the differences between rating and scoring models, as well as issues related to the development of long-term partnership and expansion of cooperation with both the public and private sectors.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing a constructive dialogue and joint efforts aimed at improving corporate governance quality, strengthening the financial stability of state-owned companies, and further developing international rating practices in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
