On September 24, 2025, Adamas Ilkyavichyus, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “UzAssets,” took part in the International Conference “Effective Governance for Economic Development” (EGED) in Central Asia, held in Dushanbe with the support of the World Bank.

For reference: The conference is jointly organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the World Bank, and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), with financial support from UK International Development.

During the session dedicated to public sector reforms, Adamas Ilkyavichyus presented Uzbekistan’s experience in transforming large state-owned enterprises. In his remarks, he highlighted the key role of JSC “UzAssets” in implementing transformation initiatives aimed at introducing modern corporate governance principles, increasing transparency, and improving the efficiency of management within state-owned companies.

He also emphasized the importance of utilizing data and analytics for making informed decisions and assessing the progress of ongoing reforms.

Additionally, Adamas Ilkyavichyus underscored the significance of involving independent directors in the supervisory boards of major state-owned companies in Uzbekistan. Their participation ensures independent and objective oversight, contributes to greater transparency and enhanced corporate accountability. This, in turn, strengthens the investment potential of state-owned enterprises and supports their integration into international economic processes.
