Meeting at JSC “UzAssets” with the Asian Development Bank Mission
On February 12, a meeting was held at JSC “UzAssets” with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) consultation mission. The meeting focused on key issues related to supporting state-owned enterprises.
Special attention was given to the creation of a Center of Excellence (CoE), as one of the important tasks is to train specialists and assist state-owned companies in the effective implementation of ESG standards. This center will serve as a key tool in ensuring the sustainability of state-owned enterprises by providing them with the knowledge and resources necessary to integrate international standards into their operations.
During the meeting, specific state-owned enterprises that could become candidates for support under the ESG program were discussed. In particular, the possibilities of enhancing their sustainability, improving social responsibility, and aligning with international standards were considered.
To ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of activities outlined in accordance with the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-16 dated January 30, 2025, “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy” in the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy,” the parties agreed to refine the concept of the Center of Excellence for a more detailed approach to training specialists and integrating ESG principles into the operations of state-owned enterprises.
