Meeting with the mission of the International Monetary Fund

On September 19, a meeting was held between the management of JSC “UzAssets”, and representatives of the International Monetary Fund mission led by Yasser Abdih.

During the meeting, the work carried out by JSC “UzAssets” on the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the transformation of state-owned companies was reviewed.

Additionally, it was noted during the negotiations that the Ministry of Economy and Finance, together with JSC “UzAssets” and the World Bank, had completed work to ensure that at least 30% of the supervisory boards of state-owned companies are staffed with qualified international specialists, with the aim of introducing best practices and modern management methods in these companies.

At the same time, the parties emphasized that conducting an IPO will help improve corporate governance in state-owned companies and boost their investment potential.

In order to take a comprehensive approach to these matters, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between JSC “UzAssets” and the International Monetary Fund.
