The Memorandum on Mutual Cooperation between the Project Office “Center of Green Economy Projects” under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the “UzAssets” Joint-Stock Company was signed on August 23, 2023.

The main purpose of the Memorandum is to establish mutually beneficial cooperation of the parties in the “green” economy projects’ implementation, as well as in reducing losses in industrial sectors and increasing the efficiency of resource consumption within the framework of the “Strategy of transitioning to “Green” Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

          The parties to the Memorandum agreed to cooperate in the following areas:

• cooperation and mutual support on the trading of renewable energy certificates;
• establishment of systematic work on matters related to reduced greenhouse gas inventory at state-owned enterprises, as well as issuance of renewable energy certificates to state-owned enterprises;
• assistance in evaluation and implementation of “green” projects planned by enterprises with a public share;
• implementation of ESG principles and reporting in state-owned enterprises;
• development of manuals and guidelines on transformation processes of state-owned enterprises, transition to a “green” economy, greenhouse gases, ESG principles, and “green” projects;
• conduct joint activities on the development and implementation of “green” economy projects, including the capacity building, knowledge exchange, strengthening networks and mutually beneficial relations.

The parties agreed to activate cooperation within the framework of the signed Memorandum.
